Teaching

Throughout their studies in our graduate programs, our graduate students have the opportunity to teach in a wide variety of classroom contexts from leading tutorial sections in our flagship introductory course to serving as independent course instructors. In recent years senior graduate students have taught both Introductory Greek and Latin as well as senior Greek and Latin courses (e.g., Introductory Greek and Latin, Greek Philosophers and Latin Novelists) to our third- and fourth-year undergraduate majors, in addition to large lectures (e.g., Science in Antiquity and Greek and Roman Epic) and small upper-level seminars (e.g., Classical Antiquity in the Cinema and Greek Religion).

We take pride in the pedagogical experience and opportunities our graduate students have to teach in both languages and civilizations during the course of their degrees.
