Biography : 

Peter Bayer did his BA in Classics and Music (Organ performance) with minors in Medieval Byzantine Studies and Philosophy at The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. He is writing on the role of the divine in human cognition in the Platonic/Neoplatonic and early Christian (particularly Alexandrian) traditions beginning with Socrates' divine monitor, up until St. Augustine's doctrine of the interior teacher. He is also the Bevan Organ Scholar at Trinity College, Toronto.

Research interests: Christianity and Platonism/Neoplatonism Alexandrian church fathers Augustine, ancient music as a moral force in philosophical education
