Biography

I grew up in Oakville, Ontario and left home in 2017 to study biochemistry at the University of British Columbia. After taking a few Latin and Greek electives my interest in literature and language got the upper hand, and I decided to change subjects to Classics in 2019. At the same time I turned my year abroad in Scotland into the start of a new degree, and I transferred to the University of Edinburgh where I graduated with an MA in Classics in 2023. I happily returned home to Toronto in the Fall of 2023 to begin my PhD at the U of T.

Research interests: Classical literature (especially Latin poetry), the reception of classical poetry in literature from Late Antiquity to the early modern period, Christian attitudes towards classical literature throughout the ages, Greek and Latin language
