Discover diverse career paths in your field by attending the b2B Career Panel Discussion, where Faculty of Arts & Science alumni from the department of classics will share their professional journeys. This is a valuable opportunity to connect with alumni who were once in your position, ask questions, and gain insights into potential career opportunities. A reception with drinks and snacks will be held after the panel. 

Event Objectives

Panelists

Jennifer Phenix, MA 2005

Jennifer is a Professor of Humanities in the School of Humanities and Creativity, within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, at Sheridan College. Having completed her BA (Brock University) and MA (University of Toronto) in Classics, Jennifer began teaching at Sheridan in 2006. She has developed curriculum in the Degree Breadth area that centers on Classics in Translation. Courses such as Troy in Literature and Film, Heroes in Classical and Contemporary Myth, and Myths of the Greek Gods are some of the courses she has developed and continues to teach.

Joshua M. Zung, HBSC 2017 & JD 2020

Joshua is a corporate tax lawyer at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. He primarily advises on investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and capital market offerings. Joshua's practice also includes assisting taxpayers throughout the tax dispute resolutions process. Prior to joining Blakes, Joshua worked at Blue J Legal, a legal tech startup, as well as the Ontario Ministry of Finance in its Tax Avoidance Analysis Unit. 

Meghan Macdonald, HBA 2005

Meghan Macdonald is the Publisher of Dundurn Press, one of the largest independent publishing houses in Canada. From her BA (Honours) from the University of Toronto (Trinity College, 0T5) and MA from York University, Meghan has followed an eclectic and dynamic career path from health care to literary agenting to investment finance to the operations for Canada's Guest of Honour presentation at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2020 and in 2021. As Publisher at Dundurn, Meghan oversees acquisitions, operations, sales, and federal and provincial funding for the organization, and sits on the board of directors for both the Association of Canadian Publishers and Livres Canada Books.
