Speaker Bio
Professor Evans completed his PhD in Classics and Classical Language, Literatures, and Linguistics at the University of Virginia in 2020 with a dissertation titled "Callimachus and the Exchange of Cultural Capital at Court.” He previously received an MA in Classical Reception in 2014 at the University of Bristol, and a BA in Classical Studies and Latin from The College of William and Mary in 2013. His research focuses on ancient Greek and Latin literature, Hellenistic history, Ptolemaic Alexandria, and Greek epigraphy.

Lecture to be followed by a reception, to which all attendees are invited.
