Mariapia Pietropaolo, Associate Professor, McMaster University
Speaker Bio
Professor Pietropaolo received her PhD in Classics from the University of Toronto in 2013. She joined the Classics department at McMaster in 2018. In 2021, she published her first book, titled The Grotesque in Roman Love Elegy, in which she explores the function and unexpected significance of ugliness and disfigurement in love elegies.
