Conference: “Falerii Veteres and Falerii Novi: the urban phenomenon in the middle Tiber valley”

This international conference organized by Prof. Seth Bernard and Prof. Maria Cristina Biella (University of Rome Sapienza) presents first results from the two archaeological projects in the territory of the Faliscans, in the Tiber Valley north of Rome. Findings from the Bronze to Iron Age site of Falerii Veteres (Vignale) are juxtaposed with those from the Roman and Late Antique city of Falerii Novi, which has been excavated by a team from the University of Toronto along with the Harvard Institute of Classical Studies, and the British School at Rome since 2021. The workshop comprises a morning of results from both sties followed by contextual presentations on the environmental and historical context, and then a roundtable discussion. Everyone is welcome to listen in by livestream, and for the link please consult the website of the British School at Rome (www.bsr.ac.uk).
